Hello and welcome to our website. My name is Michael Lawrence and together with my wife Mary and Matthew, I operate Family Funeral Service. The offices are in Barming and Bearsted, both in Maidstone, Kent. We’ve been serving the families of Maidstone and the local villages, with pride for the past 35 years, and as an experienced second generation, family owned business, we know how to concentrate on caring for your needs with commitment and understanding. This means you can leave us to get the details right to the highest standards, and naturally – we’re proud members of the ‘National Association of Funeral Directors’.

You will find me at Bearsted mostly, and Matthew mostly at Barming. I try to keep Matthew over that side of the river as much as possible!

A funeral is always a sad occasion but I believe that the level of service we offer can help lessen the trauma at such stressful times. The loss of a loved one is never easy to cope with, and the added stress of making arrangements for the service can often bring further emotional upset. With our experience of making funeral arrangements in Maidstone we have learnt how to help families have their own unique service. We’re easy to find, and if it’s difficult for you to visit, then let us know and we’ll visit you at your convenience.

If you end up looking at the coffins, I have to tell you we only stock the Newcastle coffin. If you want something more expensive we will happily get it for you, but think carefully, we would rather you sent the extra to the charity of your choice.
